Jessica Simpson: Singer and Actress

Jessica Ann Simpson was born on July 10, 1980 in Abilene, Texas and raised in Richardson, a suburb of Dallas. Jessica is an American popsinger who rose to fame during the 1990s. Her younger sister, Ashlee, is also a famous pop singer. Simpson started singing at the age of twelve as part of her Baptist church choir. Jessica was discovered by a head of a small CCM record label singing at a church camp. Columbia Records obtained one of her records and saw Simpson's potential as a pop singer and signed her.

Simpson's debut pop album, "Sweet Kisses" reached #25 on the US Billboard 200 chart and made the top 40 of the UK charts. The album sold over 2 million copies in the US. Jessica Simpson later released albums titled "Irresistible" and "In This Skin". She has starred with her husband Nick Lachey in the MTV reality show Newlyweds, released her own line of beauty products called Dessert and has also started a career as an actress.
