Everett Scott almost did not land his big break through role in
the Tom Hank's film That Thing You Do. Hanks did not think that
Tom Everett Scott looked enough like his younger self, whom he
molded the role after. Hank's wife Rita Wilson saw Scott's audition
tape and thought he was cute, Hank's went on to give Scott the
lead role.
While studying communications at Syracuse University in the late 80's Scott took an
interest in acting and switched his major to drama.
Currently Scott is working on the stage in the L.A. Ahmanson Theatre stage production
of Dead End. The play is set in New York's East River, the orchestra pit is filled with
11,000 gallons of water that recreate the setting.
